Aztec tattoos have, in the past few years, been one of those designs that have gotten a bad reputation. I’m not exactly sure why, but I believe it was because these designs were associated with certain segments of the prison population. You see, Aztec tattoo were often used by Hispanic gangs. But, that’s because gangs often take symbols out of their popular history as a way to identify themselves. And many tattoo symbols have been used this way. Japanese gangs have used traditional Japanese symbols in their tattoos, as have the Russians. So, why would Hispanic gangs be any different? It just happens that Aztec tattoos are their symbols from their rich history. But, it shouldn’t prevent the average person from enjoying one of these designs. Remember, it’s not the Aztec tattoo that’s to blame but how they are used as your own personal statement. So, get one of these cool designs and make your own interpretation about it’s symbolic meaning. It’s your tattoo make of it what you will and sport an Aztec tattoo that is beautiful and meaningful today. Like the beautiful red toned design that you see here. I would wear this tattoo without any qualms. How about you?
Aztec tattoos are always very interesting to look at. They have a way of being both whimsical and very technical at the same time. It seems that Aztec art always includes as much as it possibly can, and leaves blank spaces within its boundaries. Chances are the markings in it are telling some sort of story.
