Celtic Cross Tattoos

While I haven’t always been so, I have recently become a fan of Celtic Cross tattoos. I mean, it’s hard not to be impressed by these designs, even if your not of a religious nature. As a matter of fact, very few people get these designs for the religious value. Most people get Celtic Cross tattoos because they either love the intricate designs, or their lineage goes back to the Welsh or Irish traditions. I on the other hand love Celtic Cross tattoos for an entirely different reason. I like how they look like they have stepped out of another day and age. They have an ancient feel to them and you can almost feel the history that drips off of this design. And these designs come in all flavors as well. You have the Celtic Cross tattoos with intricate knot work designed into them and there are designs that have a huge circle in the center of them. This design plays on the latter mentioned concept and instead of using a circle, uses a kind of floral design. I think the artist made a good choice. But, no matter what design you identify with, you can be sure that these tattoos are not only beautiful but also steeped in history.

Some celtic cross tattoos like this one have a very definite artists impression to them. In particular this one appears to have risen from the flames and ashes of the Crusades themselves, something that was hard fought for and is now held in great reverence. These are the kind of tattoos that I really like.
