dove tattoo
This tattoo of a dove carrying an olive branch has significance that goes back a few thousand years. According to the Bible Noah released doves to see if there was and land ahead and one day one came back with an olive branch, just like this one. And everyone celebrated because they were finally going to have an end to their long journey in the great ark. Doves flying overhead have also been used to announce the crowning of a King and or a dictator as it were. In ancient Roman times, doves were released over the city as Julias Ceaser was given the powers of a King over all Rome. It was something meant to show the people that this was a good thing that was happening.
A dove tattoo can mean all of these things and can mean many others as well. This particular dove tattoo carries a guys name with it so perhaps he means to signify that he is offering an olive branch to all who will partake of it. This was a way of offering peace between peoples and often meant the beginning of good and prosper times. A simple little dove tattoo sure can say a whole lot.

dove tattoo
This dove tattoo looks like it was done the same day this picture was taken. It’s a somewhat cute tattoo but not one that I really get. I guess you have to be a real bird lover or something to really like this one. Don’t get me wrong the artwork is done well and all, but it’s just that it’s just not an image that impresses me at all. Though I am sure some will like it.
