When I see fish tattoos that look like this one I think of those long golden fish you would see in a Japanese parade. You know, those kind where there is several people are under one very long costume and it moves around, swerving from side to side like a real fish might, as the parade proceeds down the street. If you have never seen a parade like that you should. They always have those very long Koi fish in them, dragons too and they are very cool to watch. This tattoo is definitely of a Japanese Koi fish and as it turns out, most fish tattoos you see will be the same. For it is the Japanese who throughout their history have revered the Koi fish and both food and heavenly beings of a sort. That might seem strange for a people who eat a lot of raw fish and very often they eat the fish raw while it is still alive. Oh yes, they do. But at the same time many of them will worship the Koi fish. I like this style of fish tattoos because the Japanese fish are always very detailed and usually very brightly and cheerfully colored and that makes them fun.

Some fish tattoos are okay but I am not at all a big fan of this one. It’s just a dumb looking tat. A couple of goldfish swimming around. Big deal. And it is apparently a very large tattoo as well, certainly not one of those small private types of tattoos. This one’s execution and coloring are both lacking quite a bit.
