Hawaiian flower tattoos actually represent a group of flowers which are either native to Hawaii or grow there in abdundant numbers. These include flowers such as the hibiscus, plumeria, pikake and lotus. Flower leis are often made from one or a combination of these flowers, and they are all important to the culture and beauty of Hawaii. When choosing between Hawaiian flower tattoos, keep in mind what the flowers symbolize. For most people, this will mean choosing a hibiscus tattoo in one of its many guises. The hibiscus can also be found in conjunction with other Hawaiian imagery, such as sea turtles, or mountains . This very traditional flower for native Hawaiians seems exotic and unique for wearers from the rest of the US. If you choose to get other Hawaiian flower tattoos, you can do some very interesting things with them. Some people have even gone as far as to have a flower lei tattooed on their chest, in a very realistic style. The most popular of the flower leis is the orchid lei, and this can be done in many different colors depending on the meaning desired. The tattoo in the picture is a perfect example of the orchid lei.

Here we have a large hawaiian flower placed on someones shoulder. It’s a nice looking tattoo and it makes me wonder what type of flower it is. But that doesn’t matter. It looks good and is well conceived and executed and if it feels good on this persons body that’s all that really counts.
