Lion Tattoos
The lion tattoo is a powerful piece of art that can be appreciated by anyone. For thousands of years these beast have been direct competitors and adversaries to human beings. For thousands of years they roamed the desert plains of Asian and Africa and their reach even extended as far as Southern Europe. They were feared for their ferocity and at one time preyed on any man who was foolish enough to cross paths with them. And yet because of their stringent pack behavior they are also considered one of the most noble of animals. They have been admired for their loyalty to their prides and their innate power. Lion tattoos represent courage, royalty and pride. In addition they represent cunning and strength. A Lion tattoo may represent some aspects of these qualities to it’s wearer and the lion is seen as a powerful guardian figure and protector. The influence of the power of the lion tattoo symbolism can be seen in it’s representation in both Chinese and Japanese art and mythology. Even in Western cultures like ancient Greece the lion can be seen in popular art and literature. Hercules for example was said to possess the strength of ten lions and he wore a lion cape and headdress before he accomplished he embarked on quest.

As far as lion tattoos go this is one of the better ones I have seen. Though lacking in color it lacks nothing in both artistic ability or clarity. It is incredible detailed. To the point that it makes one feel as if they could reach out and feel the fur of the lions mane. Simply an amazing piece of artwork executed by a very talented artist.
