Shoulder tattoo designs have great potential for superb artwork since the body canvas involved is flat and accessible making it friendly for artist’s needles. The shoulder tattoo in the picture is a perfect example of what I’m talking about. It utilizes the area very well with a whole lot of color. Would this shoulder tattoo be half as impressive if it was done on the calf or forearm? I don’t think so. That is why, careful planning should be done when deciding what designs to go for shoulder tattoos as you would not want to waste such a precious area. Start by pointing out first why you want to get a tattoo. Do you want to project a part of your personality or do you want to convey a certain message? Or maybe you want to honor a loved one who passed away. Just make sure that once you have decided on one, it has meanings for you so you would not regret it in the end. Plus, what makes tattoos great are the stories behind them. With very careful planning you can get a shoulder tattoo that blows everybody out of the water and is worthy of this very important piece of human canvas.

Obviously there are many types of shoulder tattoos. And this one is a pretty wild looking one. I can make out a wild looking claw of some sort of creature but I can’t tell from the photo what that creature may be. Probably a dragon but I can’t say for sure. It is however a very nice piece of artwork done by a competent artist.
