Swallow Tattoo
I like this swallow tattoo but it is a little busy for my personal taste. Why do I say that? Well, the bird design is certainly very colorful. I especially like blue and gold coloring of the bird. I also think that the gold highlights make this design stand out even more. And then the artist got a little too ambitious by adding in all those little stars. It just seems to draw your attention away from the beauty of the design and draw it out towards it’s edges. A few stars would have been a nice addition but not all those that have been put into the design. But, that’s just my opinion. Now, a lot of people ask me what the symbolism behind swallow tattoos are. Well. that depends on the individual wearing them, but I do have a few favorite traditional meanings that I would like to share. In some cultures, the first swallow of spring is a very fortunate sight because it is an omen of financial success. To ensure wealth through the year, one must rub two coins together while watching the bird. And the final meaning that I really like is that the swallow tattoo is a symbol of freedom. Not only physically but also freedom of the spirit. That’s the meaning that is the most personal to me.
Swallow Tattoo
This swallow tattoo is hard to see for two reasons. It is a dark photograph and the skin is still quite inflamed as this picture was probably taken within an hour of getting this tattoo. It does however look like it is a good piece of artwork. Both imaginative and well sketched out, this little swallow tattoo looks to be singing its song for all the world to hear.
