Usually swallow tattoos look pretty much the same and have their roots in pretty much the same history as any other. This one however is different because this one depicts a swallow carrying two cherries on a stem and I was unable to find that meaning so we will explore the meanings of both the swallow tattoo and the cherries separately and see if they go together in any way. For the most part the swallow tattoo has it deepest roots in the world of sailing. A sailor would get a new swallow tattoo for every so many miles sailed and therefore captains would know they were experienced sailors. The were also symbols of finding or reaching home. Seeing a swallow after a long voyage mean that land was close by.
Now, the cherry has the meaning of chastity tied to it. And obviously the loss, or taking away of the cherry signified the loss of a girls innocence. And so, it would seem that the swallow flying away with these cherries would mean that a certain sailor took away a certain girls honor and maybe now carries it with him. This all sound very clever but it just might be a whole lot of B.S. too, judge it for yourself.

Most swallow tattoos show a bird that is stationary but this one shows us one that is carrying a small twig to wherever it is building its nest. Although the artwork is not really exceptional it is very well done in the sense that it is clean and simple and very appealing without being pretentious at all. Nice job this.
